Dear Members of HSG

I am writing to you for the annual K.EN.T Training Course, taking place in Margate, Kent, at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital on the 29th and 30th of September 2021 that is in each 5thedition now. I am sure you will agree this is a very promising, and becomes an extremely popular event amongst our UK gastroenterologists and surgeons, and has gone strength to strength over the last 4 years. It is the only endoscopy-surgical training course dedicated to complex colorectal lesions, comprising sections with live lectures, live endoscopy cases and hands-on on ex-vivo animal training. This year will advocate a face to face training with hands-on experience on live/in-vivo models on the 1st of October 2021. It also provides insight from a national and international faculty so that our British colleagues can get a sound grasp of a real-time endoluminal therapy practice worldwide. This year internationally recognised faculty will join our prestigious well-respected UK National faculty, and we anticipate to surpass all expectations and hence establish a unique National and International training course.

I attach the registration page and the link for the programme as well as the highlights for the last year's course.

In view of these challenging and unprecedented times, we are proud of our team committee members who have managed to design and launch a live streaming course linking with world experts in the field of endoscopy (USA, Japan, India, Australia, Spain, Italy and UK). The 5th KENT Training Course comprises a Hybrid virtual and live hands-on training, making that the 1st National course to innovate in the field of endo-surgery training.

Nonetheless, our ultimate goal is to sustain high quality training, encompassing the endo-surgical management of complex colorectal and oesophageal lesions and introducing advanced endoscopy and surgical resection techniques (EMR, ESD, SCOPE, POEM, TAMIS), exploring the oesophageal submucosal space/third space and trans-anal excision.

During these 2 virtual days (29th and 30th of September 2021), the course will be held all day from 7:30am to 7:30pm all day to meet the demands of time zone differences. All free registered delegates will be fully entitled to pose questions during the live case sessions, answered by experts in a real time platform. A set of live dedicated lectures covering a wide range of therapeutic procedures in the lower and upper gastrointestinal tract will be transmitted via a video link. The moderation of the live case sessions will advocate interactive discussions between delegates and experts.

The hands-on training course will be held under my Personal Animal license issued by Home office for research and training and I will oversee and support all stations. The platform for registration will give the opportunity to the delegate to select the station of his choice. We will have the capacity to run 4 stations, and the first 6 trainees applied will be deemed as delegates. The F2F hands-on day (1st of October 2021) will be held in the academic premises of Cambridge university.

We are looking forward to a very succesfull event.
